>"she trains the next generation of recruits and readies them for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life" Their way of life was the Atlantic slave trade. King Ghezo (played by Boyega) and his female warriors literally fought wars to keep their slave trade going when the British were doing their best to abolish it. A literal quote of the guy in answer to the British demands to stop the slave trade was "The slave trade has been the ruling principle of my people. It is the source of their glory and wealth. Their songs celebrate their victories and the mother lulls the child to sleep with notes of triumph over an enemy reduced to slavery."

I did actually read the comments and the top rated aren't what you say, the most upvoted is the one featured in the OP, and it's the most upvoted by a large margin

jhon klan 2 hours ago (modified) I hope they will also include the part where the British valiantly forced them to abolish slavery, against the wishes of their king.

I will go With that cat 1 hour ago Funny they did that while still practicing it in their own colonies.

JT41 1 hour ago @I will go With that cat Actually the British had already outlawed slavery.

Sure you have a couple of shitlibs and delusional sheboons getting all wet at wakanda reloaded and revisionism, but that's not the vast majority

I mostly see people who want historical accuracy actually

Edit:

I'd love to hear Viola's work out regime/ diet for this. She's 56 years old and she's moving and looking like a woman in her 30's. What an impressive woman. And Im gonna watch the hell out of this!

Well that's the most upvoted actually, and that platitude is the only one of its kind, everybody else is talking about history... Oddly
