Last film I watched was Leben der Anderen and I thought it was great. Even though it was modern and German, the film didn't have the usual western perversion we see in all movies and shows produced today. Also I wonder how much of East German, communist totalitarianism has been conflated with national socialism?

Any other recommendations for foreign films?

For comedy, I absolutely love tsuri baka nisshi from Japan. (The Fishing Nut) I saw tsuri baka nisshi 8 on a Japan Airlines flight with English subtitles and loved every minute of it. I looked for the other episodes and enjoyed them too.

The Villainess-she's the Korean John Wick. I've seen more good Korean films than any other foreign films.

The Hunt 2012 German language film, it's about a teacher being accused of molesting a child. I know that itself is a perversion but it was a memorable movie
