There is no nuance in the movie at all. It's white nationalist vigilante porn done in a B grade horror film style. This format doesn't make people think any deeper about the issue, it isn't going to change anyone's mind. It doesn't add anything to the debate. The film uses exposition as crutch far too often. In one scene the protagonist is delivering a monolog to a judge he drugged. It lasts far too long and the judge doesn't even appear cognizant enough to understand what is going on. There are a few other times you can tell they stretched scenes out to fit the film's the 90 minute run time. I don't need to see the swat team moving dead bodies or setting up for a raid in shots that feel 10 minutes long. Character growth is nonexistent. There is a scene with a hooker that I guess is supposed to be a character moment, but I found it stupid and unnecessary, not adding any real value. But boobs, I guess... The way they have the media reporting on the vigilante is completely unbelievable. The news show they cut to frequently shows him as favorable or at the very least sympathetic to his cause. Totally unrealistic. So anyways. Just some quick thoughts after watching it last night. I wouldn't discourage anyone from viewing it, it was an enjoyable ride for what it was. But don't expect prime cinema, it is clearly not. *Also, the film comes off as a call to violence. That people should stand up and take care of the migrants themselves when the government clearly won't. Not sure I see this as helpful to the anti-immigrant cause tbh. It is hosted on 123 movies if anyone is looking for a free way to view.
