Know what I would've done to the officer who ordered me to open fire onto law-abiding Americans?

I'd shoot whoever gave me the order. And then I'd find out who gave him the order and either find and kill him as well, or die in the attempt.

The moment a soldier of the US military decides that US civilians are "the enemy" then that soldier has become the enemy and the very reason for the Second Amendment to exist. Period.
