tldr they can't meet specifications for physical fitness so the requirements are lowered decreasing unit cohesion, they need special accommodations while in the field which (of course) the Men have to provide and the list goes on.

We had some in my Battalion. They worked in the office, we did our thing in the Companies and would only see them periodically on Battalion marches [which were always roadside] before they disappeared into the medical Humvees.

Basically the "camp followers" of ancient armies. Women would follow around armies in the Greco-Roman world, providing services such as cooking, cleaning clothes/armor, and sex.

Women soldiers are perfectly alright, just make entire platoons. They get to guard the garrisons, make the food, keep things tidy, those sorts of things. Then when the men come back from patrol they've got dinner waiting for them. Any woman who nags the men, get their squad sent out for deep recon.

Like they say though, the internet is forever.

Just read the whole thing through, I spent three years as a contractor in Baghdad and am so glad I never went to Afghanistan. Iraq made that shithole look like a 4 star resort!
