Just got my first independent contract gig, like 2 weeks ago. For a firmware project. Will see how this goes. If all goes well, will try a few more and maybe move away from my traditional employment. Maybe... my current employer has consistently been incredible to all of us since I started almost 8 years ago. Things can change quickly, though, and it would be good to have the backup option.
