Since OP didn't clarify what UP is, we can only assume he is talking about the UP corner shop (pic8.co) in Tel Aviv.
If your trip requires the use of the Mackinac Bridge on the I75, I hope that no boats smash into it collapsing the whole thing; it is a long drive around lake Michigan that is avoided by that bridge.
I know a lot of hidden paradises up there. Lived in the U.P. for about 3 years when I was younger. We go up and camp at a hidden beach for about a week every year.

I thought that post got archived. Anyways I'm a Yooper now :)
Been a minute since I visited the /s/michigan sub. You'll always be a troll to the real yoopers. After 3 years they still called me a troll lol.
I've never even been to the LP, just went through Wisconsin.
UP is fantastic
I'm sitting in a park currently at the US Canadian border and if I go west I enter the UP. If I go east I enter into the Mitten. One thing I've noticed there's a lot of white trash floating around here. So that would make me assume that there's a lot of meth or fentanyl use. There's also some nice people too. I'd imagine the summer is going to have a shit ton of bugs and humidity, but if you're ready for that then it's all good. Right now it's foggy and drizzly and pretty awful, but there's no bugs. Maybe consider doing the coastal drive into Minnesota? I just did that and it was actually quite nice.
If Minnesota is really that much cleaner than the UP, then I'll consider. What a bummer...
Well there's going to White shit and niggers everywhere. In certain part of the country is it's pretty benign. I've just found in pretty much any large city or even medium size city it's just filled with human filth. Your best bet is to go off into the country but then on the flip side of that then you get redneck trash. Maybe rent a camper if you can afford to and just try to find free camping in the UP**** so you don't have to deal with awful human beings.
Damn...
fuck off we're full
UP is still rugged and gorgeous. I'll be up there plenty, this summer myself.
