Corpse and Napalm Death got me into metal.
Then, small-time nobody's like 7 angels 7 plagues, evergreen terrace, dillinger escape plan, omega man, walls of jericho, poison the well, underoath(don't try to listen to anything after 2nd/3rd album, it's pop shite) got me into "hardcore" as it was very cool being able to meet and talk to a band after a set and assess their rickety old van and meager accoutrements.
During that time I also rotated pixies, butthole surfers, hard bop jazz, the melvins... I'm a musical mutt.
Also, I am a pinch harmonic squealing maniac thanks to this song specifically.
