I'm really starting to wonder if Voat is now an Alphabet company. It seems that the changes being abrupt and major might be because of a powerful hand from a powerful company is pulling the strings. The angel investor might be an Alphabet big wig instead of the main company to keep it off the radar. Putt did say we piss of some powerful people, but he never said they were government people. Maybe it's not Alphabet but it could be some other tech giant. I think they found Putt's price. Does this seem plausible?

What agency do you think would've taken over? There have been a lot of new accounts making very specific violent threats since the last canary update, and it could be related.

I was beginning to think I was the only person who noticed this. At first I assumed it was backlash against the "cool it" post but as it continued and continued.. very suspicious

Nah, it's definitely a domestic entity of some sort.

NZ, UK, Australia and Canada have all declared outright war on free speech platforms in the name of "hate speech". These are 4 of the 5 eyes that the US intelligence services work with. Not hard to imagine the foreign influence at all.
