That's some pretty interesting symbolism.

Yeah

Someone suggested here, I don't remember who, I think it was @GetCynical, that maybe, voat has turned into an "opposition containment" site, by way of circumstances

It would fitI guess, I mean the gated/forced login part makes little sense to me, that's like why are you even doing that? What's the point? You have to register to know what's in it?It's bizarre, especially when you consider that the so called DDoS attacks have stopped, and there are other ways to stop them btw

I guess the point is to control, as usual, it's all about control when it comes to politics, and computers in general, administration, mass surveillance and all that, computer things are designed to control "things" to begin with, any things, but I digress

Yeah the "opposition containment" concept makes kind of sense when it comes to voat's history

Is the canary even updated these days?

The canary hasn't been updated in a long time. Thats all we need to know.

Amagad, shit's compromised one way or the other... And the worst part is that people know what that means, and stay anyway...

[–] 1 pt

That makes sense, but that would mean that most of the users there have to be part of the plan. Why else would you stick around?

>hy else would you stick around?

Honestly?

You know, sometimes people are stupid, like, they know smoking is bad, but they do it anyway

Pretty much the same deal here, they know that the platform is compromised, but since they can still shitpost on it and no alligator ate their legs... Well they continue
