You remember we all freaked out about Voat suddenly having "<hello@edon.garden>" listed as the contact email right before New Year? Well have a look at what site listed under technology on this site.

So what is this imperialfamily then? Well that in turn has the email referring to londontrustmedia which was the parent company of PrivateInternetAccess or PIA confirming what most have speculated all along. That they were indeed Voat's 'Angel investor'. Because 'Jewish money' there's a lot who would have problems with that, but no me personally. PIA did as a matter of fact have a history of sponsoring things purely out of passion.

Now that PIA has merged with Kape things get more hairy though. For one part I know not all of PIA's past passion projects have been assured further funding past 6 months of the merger(about 1 month from now) and for another Kape does not have the same history of doing 'good deeds'. In fact they have a history of turning things into shit.

I would happily have sat on this secret till the end of times, but between this and Puttsy losing interest right around the time he would have been notified that the merger was about to take place, I'm not convinced Voat has much of a future. Then I'd have to tell you. And now I have.

Thanks for posting this instead of just linking to the comment.

No problem. I didn't think it would be useful to post here without elaborating. Plus, many don't have a login on Voat for various reasons ... such as what is written here.

Putt confirmed this with an alt account if you trust in that. He said he just wanted to to say to the "Morons that it might be a good time to jump ship." Gag order on him about the sale. I am done at this point. It's already an echo chamber at any rate.

We figured this out A LONG time ago. Right around the time that the whole "Voat has an Angel" post was stickied, all the PIA ads popped up. Those of us with more than two brain-cells to rub together already did the sleuthing and figured out the names of the guys who ran the holdings company that PIA was under. After looking in to them, the saner ones of us relaxed a bit because what we found was stable funding from a couple of decent dudes.

If that update about a merger and securing future funds is true, then yeah: Putt would have stopped signing in right around that time. Could be a coincidence; as we've also figured out that he's posting under alts now. The timing might have simply worked out to fan the rumour mills. ALL OF THAT BEING SAID: a few facts remain unchanged:

  1. The Canary is dead. Putt has confirmed this, which means that at best the server is passively being monitored through a backdoor and everyone is doxxed. At worst: the server was moved to room 641A and they're actively monitoring it.
  2. Putt has also personally confirmed fed intervention and investigation in to "problem users,"
  3. The site has been closed-off from public view for months.

These are the actions of someone who doesn't want a website to grow and, in fact, wants it to stay hidden. My gut is telling me that Voat ended up being that problem child whom nobody wants over for thanksgiving dinner, and now Putt is (maybe not-so) begrudgingly keeping his distance.

I came across imperialfamily a few days ago. I'm not even sure it was related to Voat, but can someone elaborate on what imperialfamily is? I did look at their site, and I see what it is, but I'm not sure what the key take away is supposed to be overall, and especially how it's related to Voat.

They're a capital investment firm; they also invest in free-speech and other "internet-activism" type stuff. That's why they fund Freenode, PIA, and other such services. It's run by two guys, I forget their names now. Found a couple of interviews with them and they seemed pretty legit. Though OP is saying they got bought out; maybe by some spooks to stop them from funding such services. Who knows.

For someone out of the loop, why is this a big deal? I seem to recall that puttitout had refrained from saying who the investors are/were.

He did when PIA was the investor. Now that they are merging with a shady company from Israel it is a whole different playbook.

People still using Voat are absolutely fucking retarded.

Looks super legit and scientific. I'm ultra-super-mega convinced.

PIA and Voat use deep state google scripts ✡👁✡
