I was reading a NY Post story where someone was quoted as saying, "He never got the help he needed". Maybe this was the help he needed.

Some people just aren't fit to live in society. That this is at all controversial is part of the reason things are the way they are these days.

Now i think about it, back before the late 70's early 80's - when asylums were still a thing. Anyone showing clear signs of mental instability/ disorders etc was simply put away from the community for the benefit/ peace/ protection of all.
