Do you believe in the Gospel? Because the vast majority of Croats I have known were Catholic and a small percentage were Orthodox. And unfortunately neither are saved because they believe in works-based salvation and not the Gospel. Salvation is only by faith in Jesus Christ and once saved, always saved. It's a free gift for anyone who believes in our Lord and Saviour. Baptism, praying, performing good deeds, repenting of sins, etc are all works, and none of these things will get you saved, though it's good to do these things as a confession of faith and have a better relationship with God. Ephesians 2:8 King James Version 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: **9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.** ^^ It is only **faith** in Jesus Christ that gets you saved, not works. Matthew 7:22-23 King James Version 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? **and in thy name done many wonderful works?** 23 And then will I profess unto them,**I never knew you**: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ^^ Notice how Jesus says "I never knew you", not "I used to know you". Once Jesus knows you, you're going to Heaven no matter what you do, though God will punish you for your sins in **this life**. John 10:28 King James Version 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. ^^ Once saved, always saved. Lots of other verses which confirm eternal security of the believer. Catholicism and Orthodoxy are false religions, it's time to repent and turn to Christ for forgiveness. And repentance = turning from unbelief to belief, and believing that Jesus will take you to Heaven no matter what.
