It’s nice to have sun, but the trade off is that it’s very dry, we have a water problem in the West. Our water is mostly snowmelt. I’ve been places that are not highlighted on this map and they don’t need to irrigate or water their lawns, it’s nice having your water fall from the sky consistently.
Not all the western states, just the areas between the Rockies and the Coastals. The Ozarks get plenty of rain.
