A man trekking through the woods in Maine recently got more than he bargained for when he encountered a massive bull moose.

If you’ve ever talked to someone from Maine, you know that almost everyone in the state has a moose story that usually ends with someone’s car getting totaled after being hit by one of these huge animals. There are signs all over Maine’s highways warning drivers to look out for them because these accidents often result in injuries or even fatalities.

In the video, the man tries to calm the animal and send it away but the moose is very interested in him and seems to charge at the very end.

Dramatic video shows massive bull moose stare man down before charging at him

A man near Allagash, Maine, had a brush with death last month when he encountered a massive bull moose that stared him down before charging at him — and it was all caught on camera.

Caleb Lewis posted the video online and said he was “extremely lucky to escape with only a few bumps and bruises” after the moose charged him.

According to Lewis, the bull moose was one of three competing for the affection of a cow moose in the area.

The video begins with a large moose, with what appears to be a 16-point rack, walking in the woods with an eye on Lewis.

The moose appeared to be a gentle giant as he approached with his big brown eyes locked on Lewis. He even appeared to slightly tip his head toward Lewis at one point . .

For those unfamiliar with Eastern Moose in Maine -

With antlers spanning over 6 feet and weighing up to 1,500 pounds, the Eastern moose is an iconic symbol of the Maine wilderness. Generations of hunters have ventured into the vast North Woods each autumn in pursuit of these magnificent animals. According to official records kept by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the largest moose ever harvested in Maine was brought down in 2016 by avid hunter Scott Flaherty of New York. This monster bull shattered previous state records with a staggering antler spread of 257 5/8 inches.

The massive moose shot by Flaherty stands testament to the impressive sizes reached by the subspecies Alces alces americanus found in Maine. However, experts say there are likely even larger specimens still roaming those remote forests. "There‘s no doubt in my mind there are bulls up there that make the current state record look small," says registered Maine Guide Tom Austin, who has been leading moose hunts in the Allagash region for over 20 years. "On a good day, you can spot moose that would rival any in the world."

Bullwinkle had a twinkle in his eye As he gazed at the guy with a look that said, "Welcome to my woods. I'm caught in a rut. You might be a rival or you may be a slut So I shall either fuck you or fuck you up. It's all the same to me. No one rides for free "

Tis the season.
