The reality is that the most expensive areas (southern Maine, Coastal Areas) are more liberal than conservative. The remaining area of the state is heavily conservative but more sparsely settled. The state elected officials are predominantly liberal on the left, RINO on the right. Maine is plagued with ranked choice voting.
This past year blacks, hispanics and Chinese are becoming more common, but still super minorities in the mostly rural state. Going into Maine's larger cities, non-whites are noticibly much more common than just a couple of years ago.
I haven't been to Maine for over a decade. I really would like to go back. It's a beautiful state. Although I've only really seen coastal areas.
Coastal areas are beautiful and the seafood is delicious. If you like the ponds, lakes, streams and mountains ... the interior is great (and much cheaper) to visit. The people are friendly and easy going compared to the coastal pearl clutchers. Tucker loves it.
