Illegal Chinese marijuana grows have taken over much of rural Maine.

The government is either incapable — or unwilling — to do anything about it.

The Maine Wire has identified more than 100 properties that are part of a sprawling network of Chinese-owned sites operating as unlicensed, illicit cannabis growing operations in rural Maine.

According to an unclassified memo from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) obtained by the Maine Wire, the illicit grows are operated by Asian Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs). . . .

They busted one of these chinese grow ops about 15 miles from my house. 3 in my county alone in the last year. I'm in Michigan.

Is weed legal there?

Yeah

Damned chinamen are everywhere I guess. Meanwhile my favorite chinese food place locally have doubled their prices or more in the last 3 years and hired young white girls for counter help. $15 for General Tso's chicken combination now (includes rice and appetizer of choice) to-go in a styrofoam tray. Ridiculous.

"If you can't beat em' join them". Buy a property and become an independent supplier. Not advising, just saying do your own research.

Saturated market here now post harvest. I know guys sitting on pounds they can't unload. Too many growers (legal and illegal) since it became legal a few years ago, everyone into weed jumped on the bandwagon.

They need to turn it into something else. Like how people turn harvested lumber into furniture. What can they turn it into that isn't saturated?

They could process it into oil, wax, dabs or possibly hash but that costs money to pay someone to process. These guys will clip and seal in bags for sale or trade later, come late winter and spring demand picks up as those that just grew a small quantity for themselves run out.
