Here's why Maine probably.
>The 2020 census shows that Maine remains the whitest state in the nation but is becoming more diverse. Census data released Thursday showed that the state's population of 1,362,359 remains overwhelming white. But the numbers decreased slightly from 95.2. % of the population to 90.8% over the past decade.
The only upside to this is that they seem to be packing them into the most progressive elitist/richest part of the state, along the southern coastal cities. Portland, ME already stated "we're full, no room for more" from elected progressives. I'm looking forward to when this all blows apart.
Yeah, didn't think of that, great point. And, a good thing if secession were to take place.
OOB and I think even Cape Elizabeth? I read an article a month or so ago about very steep increases in crime.
OOB maybe, I haven't been there lately to see for myself. Vacationers are in for a surprise if they are.
I'm not sure if there are many hotels/motels in Cape Elizabeth.
Article from 4-22-2022:
Over the past year, another 1,000+ non-citizen newcomers have made their way from the southern border to Portland, overwhelming the city’s homeless shelters. Many are being housed at taxpayer expense in hotels across Cumberland and York Counties. One hotel in South Portland houses more than 400 non-citizens, half of them children, many of whom are now enrolled in local public schools.
