It's a long story, but my coffee maker died, again. It used to be a nice one, but now it died again. We got a new one when the coffee maker was waiting for replacement the last time it broke. It was garbage. I suggested we throw it away, but the missus brought it to the Union Hall and sold it to someone at the yard sale. So, my replacement coffee maker is in a store in Farmington and I need to go buy it 'cause we got rid of our last replacement coffee maker.

There are no closer coffee makers to purchase while I wait for this coffee maker to be replaced, again.

I'm sure as shit not going to use a press for all the coffee we consume. I don't even like me enough to do all that.

So, now I've got to go into Farmington to buy a coffee maker. The last time, I sent the missus. She's not going to fall for that trick a second time. Getting a fucking coffee maker is a 2.5+ hour affair - depending on what else I might as well do, seeing as I'm already down in Farmington.

(I will probably find an excuse to stop at Tractor Supply and the Farmer's Union!)

Hmm... I wonder if any of my neighbors are going into Farmington today? I might be able to con one of 'em into picking me up a coffee maker while I wait for my coffee maker to be replaced, again.

I can't even get a good coffee maker in that time frame. The only stores in Farmington that sell coffee makers are a Walmart and Big Lots.

Also, you can't get good Mexican food, anywhere in Maine. There's no good Mexican food. I'd punch a nun for a good burrito.

Throw the grounds in boiling water, like the greatest generation did in WWII. Then turn the heat off and stir for a few minutes. If you have an espresso maker, make espresso and add lukewarm water to get it to a full cup of coffee. When I want a great cup of coffee that's what I do, as I don't like espresso. Espresso makers extract much more flavor than coffee makers.

Yeah, fuck that. I have a French press AND there's like a tiny 2 cup coffee maker in the breakfast nook - but it sucks worse than the one the missus sold at the Grange Hall yard sale. I'm not even sure where it came from, but it's stupid.

I bought my coffee maker 3 years ago for 10$ at a grocery store. I’ve gotten my money out of it and I don’t even want an expensive one.

My broken coffee maker is a fancy Bunn that ties directly into the plumbing. It broke. Again... It's only the second time, but the last time was just a few months ago.

Thats far too fancy for my taste. I'm happy with my regular old coffee maker.

I'm not sure you understand how much I love my coffee maker. I don't have to fix it. Bunn will send a new one and they'll send it directly to my plumber who's an authorized repair person. I'm not paying for this. Nope. 'Snot my fault it broke. They can fix it.

At least that's how it should work.

That's how it better work. Otherwise, I'll be bitching about this for weeks. Nobody wants to hear that.

I like it because it has a warmer plate on top and it makes a cup of coffee in just a few minutes - and it also dispenses hot water for delicious tea or cocoa. It's a home version of what diners use, but it only has two pots and two warmer plates. It's not the big honkin' thing that you see that have like 8 pots and shit like that. It's just a baby one.

It's fucking awesome! I can buy packs of diner coffee that are already individually prepared and toss 'em in there and, even better, there's always someone who worked at a diner, convenience store, or restaurant. They already know exactly how to use it and so I can get them to make the coffee - even if they're right fucked up! You can make it faster than a small group of people will drink it.

I don't think people understand how much I love my coffee maker.

And it's broken. Again.

It's a cryin' shame Amazon doesn't deliver burritos ... or coffee makers ... in Maine.

[–] 1 pt

They'll ship it to my PO box. That'll be at least a few days. I'd still have to go to the post office to get it.

UPS and FedEx don't come to my house anymore. FedEx always got lost and UPS got stuck when their idiot driver drove off my driveway and got stuck overnight. So, I told 'em not to deliver to me anymore and they just drop off any packages at the convenience store in town. I'd still have to go into the village and it'll still be a few days.

If you lived in a more urban area, it'd not be nearly as problematic.

Strongly suggest you set up a drone service between your place and the convenience store! Problem solved.

[–] 1 pt

LOL I wanna see how well that does in the winter or one of our major storms that lasts for a few days.

Trivially related: I wish drones were something I could get into as a hobby. They look like fun.

/s/texas can solve your mexican food needs, but you'd have longer drives, kek it's 4-5 hours from each major city to the others

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, I've been to Texas. My favorite thing is the giant honkin' cross on the way into Amarillo on 40.

I'm about 4.5 hours from Boston, which is the nearest major city. However, I'm sure as shit not driving to Boston if I can help it. Fuck that.

Just to irk me, after I stated I was going into Farmington, everyone wanted to come with me. Nobody would go for me. They all wanted to come with me. I should have given the dog the front seat and made them ride in back.

freeloaders!

Inconsiderate bastards!

If they wanted to go to town, they could have just gone and left me home! They don't need supervision to buy a coffee maker! Pick one. Any one.
