Gnu IceCat doesn't work well with most modern websites (do to its poor JS support), the "Sidebar" button shows up on IceCat 60.7.0, here.

Yeah, mine cuts off at "PIF". IceCat is pretty special in a lot of ways, so I use IC for most of my daily browsing (Poal, chans, news, etc...) and Brave for "normie" stuff like shopping and YouTube.
IceCat isn't all that bad on its own, but TPRB and uBlock Origin break a ton of sites.
