I really wish FOSS devs would stop begging for money. It's about the software. Your compensation is satisfaction from making good software that people want to use and enjoy and improve on if they want to. Expecting beer money goes against the entire principle. Besides, these people are typically already making a software engineer salary at their job with the companies that want this beer money.
