Oracle is at least Doing The Right Thing in this case, but they're just as guilty as IBM when it comes to fuckery.

All of the big tech companies were caught in industry wide wage suppression schemes and illegally importing and outsourcing work and workers.

If you work in tech, all of these companies owe you big bucks.

IBM’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux is benefiting from the work of countless other Linux developers. They are saying they want to use other Linux developers’ work for free, but they do not want any other Linux devs to use theirs.

That might be legal, but it’s a jerk move.

Red Hat does have developers on their payroll. They have paid many people lots of dollars to develop for their OS.

Can Rocky Linux support have a patch applied to mainline Linux within hours of the bug report?

>Finally, to IBM, here’s a big idea for you. You say that you don’t want to pay all those RHEL developers? Here’s how you can save money: just pull from us. Become a downstream distributor of Oracle Linux. We will happily take on the burden.

BURN!
