Thanks, good story and I didn't realize this was a thing so it's great it's being closed. I've been waiting for some mole in Linux or a devious contributor to get something into the kernel to take down millions of PC's and servers. I see they found one but I'm sure there are a dozen like this in common 3rd party programs like python and others that update a lot so nailing something down might not work when change is often.

Unauthorized Access is usually done through the Bios now.

I did not know that. I do have a long bios password if that helps mitigate any problems but it likely won't if it's well made almost nothing short of making the bios read only but then you'd have a lot of fun opening up a computer to update the bios. Mine you have to hit and hold a tiny red button next to a usb1 port top back of the backplate, that is required to be pushed down when rebooting out of bios into update mode on bios updates.

This is why people should use TempleOS instead, or the even more based fork ZealOS/ZenithOS.

I will be sure to patch in a month or so.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Linus' focus on making sure people who've cut off their penis feel comfortable reading the kernel source.

Stop using Linux. There has never, ever been an audit of its kernel. Not one full audit has ever been done, and multiple companies and governments contribute code. Just fucking stop. BSD & illumos are the only way to stay safe.
