Typical woman, relying on pain compliance. Probably effective most of the time, but sometimes that's not an option.
The problem is she thinks the threat is gone, but I'm sure if she does that IRL, the assailant will probably get very pissed and will punch her in the face.
She looks too cheeky to try that in real life where it probably wouldnt be effective because of the weather or she doesnt have a lighter. I'm sure she came up with that just to fuck with people, probably as a gag she came up with at the bar where lighters are everywhere.
