Hydrogen has always been a terrible fuel. It's got no energy density per liter. The hydrogen tanks would have to be enormous to match a gasoline tank. Storing it is expensive and there is no infrastructure. It explodes if it leaks and contacts Oxygen in the air. Every car crash is a potential double bomb.

Every car crash is a potential double bomb.

But what are the downsides?

[–] 1 pt 24d

Hydrogen will NEVER be a viable fuel. It's too hard to store, too explosive, too hard to manufacture even with ideal production, and worse of all it has TERRIBLE energy potential as a fuel. It's between 60-70% of gasoline, and 30-45% that of diesel.

The faster these idiots move on from this shit the better.
