I'm not an iron smelt expert, but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. I do know the Chinese tend to lie about a lot of stuff. I believe the end effect of the few seconds may be correct. This is probably skipping over other time consuming processes in the chain leading to the final accelerated event.
I equate this to how electric cars are touted as being so wonderful, completely dismissing resources required to build said device.
I don't believe the smelting proces can be short circuited so dramatically without other associated costs. I hope I'm wrong but...
