Not exactly sure what they did wrong just skimming over things. They basically told you what is in it. If you don't read that, its on you.

From the post:

>People who purchased a popular protein bar are be able to receive some of the multi-million dollar payout its maker just settled. Anyone who ate Clif Bars or Clif Kid ZBars between April 2014 and March 2023 can get up to $50 - depending on how many you purchased. The company just settled for $12m in a settlement over claims the ingredients label was misleading. The plaintiffs in the class action suit against the massive company claimed that the products were marketed as healthy despite their high added sugar content.

Reminds me of those sugar-free cookies from the 80s. They all had "de-ionized grape juice" as an ingredient. When you de-ionize juices, you basically take all the stuff out that makes it taste like the juice and leave the water and sugar behind. The things were full of sugar, just as fructose and not glucose.

Kind of like how Carob was supposed to be better for you and it had to have more sugar than chocolate because it tastes like ass otherwise.

But yeah this is a little different. They should have just skipped the healthy and used "packed full of energy" which wouldn't be a lie because sugar.

This reminded me of one of my high school jobs at a grocery store bakery. This was in the 90’s right when fat free was losing steam and low carb was trending. Well, we had sugar free cookies and we had low fat cookies.

I fucking shit you not, women would have me split a dozen of regular cookies and a dozen of the low fat/sugar-free cookies and they truly believed the two canceled each other out.

I thought you were going to say they were the same thing, but that's the 'ol "Two big macs large fries and a diet coke" thing...lol.

I remember that brief time in history when protein bars were actually not cancerous crap, but 20g of whey protein with acceptable amount of sugar.

Now it's 20 grams of pure soy or some whey mixed in, with 100 different cancerous chemicals and sweeteners.

This is why I hate lawyers. This suit is not about anything but enriching themselves. What do they get these days? 1/3 to 1/2 of the take? So they made themselves somewhere around 4 to 6 million bucks and the "victims" get 50 bucks apiece. Our "justice" system is broken as fuck.

Yeah, I kind of felt like that was the same. I posted it because the more people that make claims the less money the lawyers get to take. So.. Even if you bought this one time in a gas station a while back, put in a claim as long as you can meet the constraints. Fuck those greedy bastards.

Calling their bars “protein bars” seems generous. Aren’t they all sugar, oil, oatmeal, chocolate, and rice krispies?
