It's not banning someone for anger. You're right, Christ didn't silence people. But he also didn't tolerate toxic behavior, like trying to rile people up and being unkind to others for their beliefs. He forgave. Most bans will be temporary, a couple days at most. I will edit the sidebar to reflect this.

I'm sorry I'm going to have to disagree here, Christ didn't let the demons have their say before he cast them out? He didn't let the angry hostess have her say before he explained why her sisters behavior was fine? He didn't allow the money changers in the temple to do their thing before he scolded them? Christ let people rile others up, he then defused the situation with love and caring. I'm curious how you think Christ took away peoples ability to behave in a toxic manner in the time he lived. I think you might be over assuming the amount that Christ filtered his audience.

That is an excellent point. He did let others have their say. I will remove the pot-stirring rule. The rule about respect is staying, as I want this community to be respectful of others.

I'm glad to hear it. I think we all have to remember without free speech and freedom of expression christianity and many religions in the current form just don't exist. We have the freedom to believe what we want and people died to give us that so I believe we should respect it.
