Angela Onduto, 47, was handed six years behind bars after pleading no contest to charges of voluntary manslaughter over the death of her newborn daughter in California in 2009.
She had evaded justice for 17 years until a Costco receipt, along with advancements in DNA, tied her to the crime scene.
The child, named Matea Esperanza by police, was found with its umbilical cord still attached, bloodied pantyhose, and a Costco receipt on May 18, 2009, by a man searching for recycling in the dumpster at Parkside Apartments in Union City in the Bay Area.
