I know that it can be used in some gardening but I've also read that a lot of people just bury it without spreading it around.

What do you do with ash from charcoal or burning wood from a stove/fireplace?

I ask because I need to clean out the grill since I think I'm going to try to smoke something this coming week since the weather will be good. I just wonder what everyone else is doing with the old ash. I only use hard wood lump charcoal for many reasons. Just wondering what others do with what is left over.

Cool, that is very interesting. I have never made my own soap but the more skills you can get to take care of yourself the better.
