I know it grows wild in my area so climate shouldn't be an issue, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks that would be handy before I start planting stratified seeds in the forest.

i knew a master gardener and I asked him about this after I read an article about Ginseng being a high value cash crop. The issue is it takes 3-5 years before you get anything harvest-able.

I think it's a great idea if you have the time, patience and resources.

I'd already planned on waiting about 5 years until harvest, I was thinking of planting an acre per year and once it's finally time to harvest I'd be able to get a crop every year.

that a boy. then i think it would work knowing your expectations are based in reality.

good luck with the whole venture. keep us posted.

An acre of ginseng, wow! Are you considering selling it as a cash crop then? With that volume it would be good to set up a business, get certification and contact a distributor or processor for extracts.

I'm waiting on my farm number as it is, that kind of counts as a business.
