I make soap. I can do the math.
Let's say each person was exactly average for a human. Let's say that average across ages and genders for a perfectly healthy person is 150 lbs and 10-15% body fat. Thats 20 lbs give or take. Ok. 20 lbs of fat.
Now let's say we can render half of that into usable fats for soapmaking. Thats 260 million lbs of usable fat.
I use about 6 lbs of fat to make 10 lbs of soap. Thats also around a lb of lye. The average bar of soap is 4 to 6 oz. Let's say you can get 3 to 4 nice bars of soap out of a lb of soap.
So that's 260 million lbs of lye. Around 420 million lbs of soap. Or 1.3 BILLION bars of soap.
Now let's say that bar of soap lasts one person a month. Thats a years worth of soap for 100 million people. Or 100 million years worth of soap for one person.
Thats enough soap to have lasted the entire third Reich the entirety of its existence.
