Europeans never traded in sugar before the jews came along. Sugar, tobacco, diamonds, and indigo were all wholly jewish commodities, not European, and by judging who owned the mercantile businesses and cotton factors and by who were the cotton speculators , we can concluded that in the cotton trade jews "acquired ... and became the leading entrepreneurs."
