Say what you want about the Ottoman Empire, but we didn't have 1/10th of the problems we have now with Semitic lands or peoples when they were the property manager over there. I'm sure the idea of removing the Sultan and restoring the individual peoples to independence and self-determination sounded like a good idea at the time.
