After thinking about this further, I think Hadi Matar's family was paid a substantial sum after the attack. Some unknown male is seeing leaving the house. I suspect many more of his family will be departing in the near future. I also bet Matar's legal defense will be covered by some shill company controlled by Iran. More power to them.
