They quoted an abridged 14th century manual in one madhab when it is talking about qisas (retaliatory punishment) carried out by the victim's family. It is not the only form of punishment (other example: haad punishment). To say that Qisas is due unto the father who kills his daughter is to say that the father should kill himself.

Rather the haad punishment of the state is due over him. This is commonly misinterpreted to the point that some countries have loose laws around killing your own children.

Not surprising seeing how close is the judgement.

Did Islam Said’s commitment to the religion of Islam override that natural human reaction (murrder is abhorrent) and make him think that what his father had done was good and praiseworthy?

White people, stop pretending they think like us. Look at their actions, assume it fits their logic and act accordingly.
