This is probably the smartest (and most correct) conclusion she's ever had. The US education machine is calibrated to the lowest common denominator and she's failing to hurdle even that very lowset bar - but she's come to an understanding about her own weaknesses and will likely find a way to personal success because of it.

Until recent past, women were sent to college only to find an educated husband and maybe bag a Home Economics "degree". Homely or queer women with enough brains took education or nursing courses so they could support themselves.

It's sad to see so many women set up for failure. Their delusional parents and peer groups repeat the "you can become anything" mantra and they end up hating themselves when they can't do what "everyone else" supposedly can.
