Retarded rhetoric. There is a cost to straws. It's very small, but the company pays for it anyway. And so the company thought "how do we put the cost unto the consumer, when a straw is worth less than 1/2 a cent?" "What if we used paper straws? They cost 100x more." And so they pushed this bullshit campaign "it's to save the planet."
I'm not immune to the propaganda, just slightly more resilient.
I think the value was virtue signaling. The actual cost doesn't matter either.
They should have gone with stainless steel washable straws.
Unfortunately "bring your own stainless steel straw" doesn't work like "bring your own reusable bag"
Well, at least now I understand the high price for their coffee.
