I have Irish blood from both my parents. My relatives came over in the 1890s. Would there be a way for me to become a citizen even though my ancestors coming to America was 130 years in the past?

It looks like I could get it through my great-grandfather I just have to track down his information. I'm trying to figure out if I can make a international phone call with WhatsApp because I can't call the Irish embassy to ask them. But it gets even trickier because he was actually Northern Irish but I read somewhere that it doesn't matter that Irish is Irish so that's another thing I have to confirm. I do have a Republic of Ireland great grandparent but no one knows much about him so that might be a lost cause. I also have a great grandmother too but anyone that knew anything about her is dead or I have no contact with. Fun fun.

Seems like you care a lot more about the details than they do.

LOL, yeah it seems like they just kind of want a pulse. Might be for the tax base who knows.

As AOU said I could just go over and pretend I'm a mudnigger and I'd probably have even a better chance to become a citizen no questions asked.
