SIOUX CITY, Iowa — One man is in custody and another in the hospital after an early morning shooting on the west side.
Police were called to West 15th and Myrtle Streets just before 2 a.m. Wednesday for a reported shooting. They found one man with a gunshot wound to his leg and the shooter.
20-year-old Alejandro LaPointe is charged with willful injury, going armed with intent and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Court documents allege LaPointe and the victim got into an argument that ended with LaPointe first firing a warning shot, then shooting the victim in the leg.
LaPointe is being held in the Woodbury County Jail on $15,000 bond.
