The internet died in like 1998, before web 2.0. It died with cable internet. The issue before then wasn't one of storage (hosting), it was one of the ability to download that data at speeds able to keep up with a human mind, at bare minimum. That standard being met change everything. No longer was it, load a webpage, get up and go do something for a couple of minutes, read the page and repeat. Now it's: click a webpage and your attention is held for hours before you necessarily click off of it. Even then, the wait is the blink of an eye.
Also, the number of people who believe AI is new; of the last 8 or so years, are retarded. The AI we see now existed well over a decade ago, it just existed in places that you and I aren't privy to.
