Firefox started fucking with stuff like the interface and built-in add-ins. Their CEO or something made a donation to anti-homo groups, and that made the screeching reeees screech harder. Chrome became a better, doesn't get in the way browser for most people - it offered a clean interface that didn't change much over time.
