Breathing.
That's it.

[–] 0 pt 5y

In my youth I learned that when trying to sleep an failing if I repeated that the word 'sleep' long enough I woke up in the morning without noticing.Later, when I had trivial things like girls and completely failing at life to worry about, I found that deliberately chanting three syllables in 4/4 time prevented any nagging passing thought from troubling me.I like to repeat 'jingle bells' because I hate the song

Alternatively, you can start counting in your head. Literally count; 1, 2, 3. 4. Restart if you reach 10 (personally I've only ever gotten to 8). If you have a thought that isn't the next number in the sequence put the thought aside and start over. The key here is not to dwell on the thought or why you're putting it aside. Just start again at 1 and count.\

A final method of clearing the mind in preparation for sleep or just for a moment of clarity. Shut your eyes and mouth. Breath only through your nose. Focus acutely upon the sensation of air passing across the nasal septum. Think of nothing but how it feel when the air passes this portion of your body.

I'm no expert. I've never made a video but these things have worked for me in the past. I hope they help someone else. Good luck sleeping. The clowns wait for us all in our dreams.
