I understand your suspicion. But for now I'm just quiet because I'm deciding if this place is right for me. In fact I wasn't aware up/downvotes weren't anonymous.
Only downvotes are public. As we encourage the community to voice their opinion rather than just downvote and move on generally most here reserve downvotes for spam.

Yeah in the beginning of the site we had some trouble with that, so I made the call that once a user reaches level six they would be able to see downvotes. It pretty much ended that over night. Pissed a lot of folks off but I felt something needed to be done.
