[–] 1 pt 12d

If you come directly to United States and that is the nearest country of refuge, then maybe.

If you travel commercially out of your home country then no. If you cross the border illegally then no. If you bust ass to avoid your government and sneak out to report to a nearby US port of entry then subject yourself to exhaustive investigation to verify refugee status and be found to be a refugee, then maybe we can figure something out. That's my thought.

It's not zero but would get things to a dull roar. Problem is that the government will screw that up soon enough and we are back to 2024.

At a minimum ALL asylum claims (retroactive for 20 years) need to be invalidated and no new claims allowed for 50 years.

If they are trying to get away from somewhere bad there are plenty of other places in the world for them to go. You don't get to "pick" America.
