I brought home fleas one summer after a long camp on the river. Took about 2 weeks of vacuuming and laundry every day to get rid of them. Bedbugs are a lot smaller and numerous, if they establish you probably have to fumigate.
Don't forget to clean your room boys. Wash your sheets and vacuum the mattress once in awhile.
