Because any newcomers are going to gravitate to the most generic name.
You are making a lot of personal assumptions without knowing how newcomers operate here.
And with all due respect, I think admins know better than you regarding newcomer's behavior.
Most of them are just posting in default subs that are showing up in their top bar or in /all/hot.
It's up to you to make an alternative sub and get it more popular.

I gave you the exact reason why admins do not interfere with user-subs.
You are just not satisfied with that answer.
Point me at a "popular" sub with a "generic name" where there's blatant owner/mod abuse.
