Great ant killer - mix a little powdered Boric Acid (available in drug stores for making eye drops) with sugar water and leave around the house in small dishes (I used to use plastic bottle caps). The ants seek out the sugar water, drink it up, go back to the nest and feed the Queen - that becomes sterile as soon as she ingests it. The nest collapses within a day. Works like a charm.

Far cheaper, safer and more effective than most any traps, poison, etc. Safe for pets.

Years ago I tried pouring nothing but boiling hot water over an ant hill. Killed it dead. Been using it since and has worked every time. Might not be practical in the house though. Perhaps there’s a mound near the house?

Works on in ground yellow jacket nests too, but be prepared to run!
