usually you can do that to attract deer same with salt licks. Then hunting season you need to remove. It varies by state/county. Deer are stupid and will come back to see if it is still there. huh interesting I just looked it up for my state and it is banned altogether in some counties others it is only feeding due to CWD. they don't want them hoarding up in one spot apparently
