I think some of the professors are just that, researchers writing about the truth they find. Maybe they are worried about a very real backlash.

Oh they get tons of that from the community if they are vocal and doing documentaries or such. Lots of them just do normal professor books but since they aren't a famous known professor it has no impact so they don't get any backlash.
